Marie Roseline Sanon is a mental health counseling intern currently in master’s or mental health counseling program at Nyack College. She completed her B.A. in Psychology at Nyack College as well.
Marie decided to pursue a counseling career after many confirmations from God that this was the path she should take. She has helped many individuals and families, including youth and married couples, offering guidance and assistance to them on finding restoration.

Marie has been the director of the children’s ministry for many years at her local church, helping children from all ages dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts. She specializes in working with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, in addition to couples experiencing challenges in their marriage. Her experience also includes working as a teacher’s assistant at a school for people with disabilities for over 20 years.

In her work with clients, Marie approaches her clients by meeting them at their level, to support them as they grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She assists her clients to identify potential plans to address problems they are facing so that they can overcome their hardships. She is excited to work with clients who want to incorporate their faith in God in their therapeutic journey. Marie uses an insight-oriented approach to working with clients, to facilitate understanding core issues in need of addressing. As her theory of choice, she combines Humanistic therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her work with clients, but tailors sessions according to each client’s need.

She is bilingual in English and Haitian Creole, so sessions can be provided in Haitian Creole if desired.
