Ashley is a mental health counseling intern from Nyack college, with 10 years of experience as a one on one personal trainer after receiving her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Psychology. She found that as a personal trainer her clients often said that they felt as though she was also their therapist, which is what motivated her to pursue her Master’s as a Mental Health Counselor.
She is very passionate about helping others to become healthier physically, mentally, and emotionally. Ashley’s approach to counseling is on creating a warm, welcoming, and trusting environment where she can help clients dig deeper into their own unique challenges. She utilizes techniques from Attachment Based Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Somatic Therapy.
Her specialties include working with women of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, somatic disorders, body-image issues, symptoms occurring from past traumas, or who want to work on behavior change. She helps her clients get to the root of their mental health issues, create tools to cope with adversities, and build off their strengths to achieve their lifestyle goals.
